The PWS MK116 MOD 2-M is a premium, flagship AR-15 style rifle manufactured by Primary Weapons Systems. It is best known for abandoning the traditional direct impingement system of standard ARs in favor of a proprietary long-stroke gas piston system—a design heavily inspired by the AK-47 but scaled and refined for the AR platform.

Long-Stroke Piston System: Unlike a short-stroke piston that taps the bolt carrier, the PWS system utilizes a single, continuous assembly connecting the piston face and the bolt carrier group.
